It is known that some bacillus spp. particularly few specific strains of bacillus subtilis can produce antiviral compounds against pathogens. Specific strains of bacillus subtilis and pseudomonas fluorescens (CFU Count @ 5 x 107 per ml of formulation) can induce systemic resistance against viral disease caused by yellow mosaic Virus, tobacco mosaic virus, little leaf of brinjal and ceaf curl virus by inhibiting viral coat protein synthesis and by increasing the expression of disease resistant signalling genes, defence genes and cell wall expansion genes in plants apart from its nutritional role, it has been found that the particular bacteria strains used to develop Sai Fungi Virus has the efficacy to produce antibiotics to prevent several other bacteria and fungal diseases also.
